In the past few weeks, we’ve talked about honesty vs. transparency, having faith, and handling hard better. A key step to walking in your purpose is making sure you don’t lose yourself in the process physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and focusing on mental health in creative spaces is extremely important. So many of us are trying to flourish and become successful in creative spaces – but a follower count means nothing if you’re sacrificing your mental health in the process.

Becoming self aware is vital. Knowing who you are outside of the personality you show people online and in person helps you understand where you are thriving, surviving, and/or in need.
I have made strides as a creative by understanding where my boundaries need to be applied and how I can provide a safe space FOR MYSELF. And let me tell you, it ain’t always easy! However, it is required.
When you invest in yourself, you can observe things such as how your body is responding to and holding stress, what you can do in self-care and self-preservation, and what activities and people bring more peace into your life.
You can flourish and thrive when you create from a place of mental stability and wellness. So continue to make room for yourself, and stay tuned for more resources this month!
